Since before there was a North Carolina, generations have lived off the waters of the Core Sound. Their way of life, their love of the water, their determination to survive, their culture, language and cuisine has fed the spirit and body of the state from one generation to the next. Now, awash in globalized seafood, amidst shifting political and economic landscapes, fishermen with one foot in the past are charting a new course for their future, steeped in tradition while looking far ahead, certain that they will make it Big.
